Practise the Elephant Gambit

The Elephant Gambit (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 d5), also called the Queen's Pawn Countergambit, is a direct counterattack in the centre: instead of defending e5, Black strikes at e4. Play Black's moves of the line from memory — 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 d5 — and the trainer plays White's replies; "Play the other side" turns it around.

"Drill all" adds the 3 named lines that continue it, such as Elephant Gambit: Paulsen Countergambit, Elephant Gambit: Maróczy Gambit, Elephant Gambit: Wasp Variation.

Read about the line, its statistics on Lichess and Stockfish's evaluation on the Elephant Gambit page, or pick another opening in the opening trainer.
