Practise the French Defense: Exchange Variation

In the Exchange Variation of the French Defense (1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.exd5 exd5) White releases the tension in the centre at once. Play White's moves of the line from memory — 1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. exd5 — and the trainer plays Black's replies; "Play the other side" turns it around.

"Drill all" adds the 4 named lines that continue it, such as French Defense: Exchange Variation, Monte Carlo Variation, French Defense: Exchange Variation, Bogoljubow Variation.

Read about the line, its statistics on Lichess and Stockfish's evaluation on the French Defense: Exchange Variation page, or pick another opening in the opening trainer.
