Practise the Grünfeld Defense: Russian Variation

The Russian Variation, also called the Russian System, is 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 d5 4.Nf3 Bg7 5.Qb3, a line of the Grünfeld Defense in which White brings the queen out early instead of playing the Exchange Variation, 4.cxd5. Play White's moves of the line from memory — 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. Nc3 d5 4. Nf3 Bg7 5. Qb3 — and the trainer plays Black's replies; "Play the other side" turns it around.

"Drill all" adds the 10 named lines that continue it, such as Grünfeld Defense: Russian Variation, Hungarian Variation, Grünfeld Defense: Russian Variation, Szabo Variation, Grünfeld Defense: Russian Variation, Byrne Variation, Grünfeld Defense: Russian Variation, Prins Variation, Grünfeld Defense: Russian Variation, Smyslov Variation, Grünfeld Defense: Russian Variation, Levenfish Variation, Grünfeld Defense: Russian Variation, Keres Variation, Grünfeld Defense: Russian Variation, Yugoslav Variation.
