Practise the Hungarian Opening

The Hungarian Opening (1.g3), also called the King's Fianchetto Opening and the Benko Opening, prepares to fianchetto the king's bishop on g2. Play White's moves of the line from memory — 1. g3 — and the trainer plays Black's replies; "Play the other side" turns it around.

"Drill all" adds the 20 named lines that continue it, such as Hungarian Opening: Slav Formation, Hungarian Opening: Indian Defense, Hungarian Opening: Catalan Formation, Hungarian Opening: Sicilian Invitation, Hungarian Opening: Symmetrical Variation, Hungarian Opening: Reversed Modern Defense, Hungarian Opening: Dutch Defense, Lasker Simul Special.

Read about the line, its statistics on Lichess and Stockfish's evaluation on the Hungarian Opening page, or pick another opening in the opening trainer.
