Practise the Philidor Defense

The Philidor Defense (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 d6) protects the e5-pawn with a pawn instead of the usual 2...Nc6. Play Black's moves of the line from memory — 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 d6 — and the trainer plays White's replies; "Play the other side" turns it around.

"Drill all" adds the 41 named lines that continue it, such as Philidor Defense: Exchange Variation, Philidor Defense: Lion Variation, Philidor Defense: Hanham Variation, Philidor Defense: Morphy Gambit, Philidor Defense: Steinitz Variation, Philidor Defense: Lopez Countergambit, Philidor Defense: Nimzowitsch Variation, Philidor Defense: Bird Gambit.
