Practise the Polish Opening

The Polish Opening (1.b4), also called the Sokolsky Opening and the Orangutan, is an uncommon first move: databases rank it ninth in popularity among White's twenty possible first moves. Play White's moves of the line from memory — 1. b4 — and the trainer plays Black's replies; "Play the other side" turns it around.

"Drill all" adds the 25 named lines that continue it, such as Polish Opening, with d5, Polish Opening: Czech Defense, Polish Opening: King's Indian Variation, Polish Opening: Outflank Variation, Polish Opening: Bugayev Attack, Polish Opening: Schiffler-Sokolsky Variation, Polish Opening: Baltic Defense, Polish Opening: Birmingham Gambit.

Read about the line, its statistics on Lichess and Stockfish's evaluation on the Polish Opening page, or pick another opening in the opening trainer.
