Practise the Semi-Slav Defense
The Semi-Slav Defense (1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.Nc3 e6) is one of the richest and sharpest defences to the Queen's Gambit. Play Black's moves of the line from memory —
1. d4 d5 2. c4 c6 3. Nf3 Nf6 4. Nc3 e6 — and the trainer plays
White's replies; "Play the other side" turns it around.
"Drill all" adds the 20 named lines that continue it, such as Queen's Gambit Declined, Queen's Gambit Declined: Cambridge Springs Defense, Semi-Slav Defense Accepted, Semi-Slav Defense: Anti-Moscow Gambit, Semi-Slav Defense: Botvinnik Variation, Semi-Slav Defense: Moscow Variation, Queen's Gambit Declined: Cambridge Springs Defense, Bogoljubow Variation, Semi-Slav Defense: Stoltz Variation, Shabalov Attack.
